Dave Thompson, SNP MSP for Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch, has today (Thursday) welcomed the award of £201,000 to Glenurquhart Care Project, based in Drumnadrochit.
Glenurquhart Care Project will purchase 1.3 acres of land in two sites at the rear of the Glenurquhart Care Centre in Drumnadrochit which will enable these areas to be developed for new amenity housing designed for the elderly and supported by the services of the Care Centre. The project will augment and extend the range of services offered by Glenurquhart Care Project and will create new training and employment opportunities.
Commenting on this, Mr Thompson said: “I am delighted that Glenurquhart Care Project has been awarded this funding. It will provide training and much needed employment opportunities in Drumnadrochit, which in these cash-strapped times is a real boon to the area.
“I wish the Care Project all the very best in progressing with their plans.”
