Dave Thompson, SNP MSP for Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch used First Minister’s Questions on the 3rd of February, 2016, to ask the First Minister is she was able to give an update on the support provided for the ARI Neurological Department and Raigmore Hospital, Inverness, with which it works closely, in its treatment of such conditions and especially in relation to young people.
Mr Thompson said, “Having suffered a bilateral subdural haematoma two and half years ago and being blessed with an excellent recovery after the fine work of Mr Kamel and his team at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, I know first-hand the positive difference specialist support makes and the hard work clinicians and support staff.
“It is heartening, therefore, that the First Minister was unwavering in her praise for the work of clinicians and support staff all over the country and that she stressed the need for continued joint working between Aberdeen and Inverness Neurological departments”.
