In the run up to a General Election, which will be called by June next year at the latest, Highlands & Islands SNP MSP Dave Thompson is encouraging residents of the Highlands & Islands to make sure they are registered to vote.
Commenting, Dave said: "The best way to have a say on the issues which matter to you is by voting, and with the UK General Election just around the corner and it's important to update your details and register to vote if you haven't already.
"The Electoral Registration Office is doing its annual autumn canvas right now giving voters the perfect chance to ensure their voice will be heard before next year.
"The Electoral Commission website also has great information on voting, applying for a postal or proxy vote and browsers can even visit a virtual polling booth.
Notes:
More information on The Electoral Registration Office's autumn canvas and related information can be found here.
You can vote if you live in the UK and are aged 18 or over on polling day and a British, Irish Republic, qualifying Commonwealth citizen. British citizens living overseas are also eligible to vote if they have been registered in the UK in the past 15 years. Members of the UK armed forces serving abroad can also vote.
