Highlands and Islands SNP MSP Dave Thompson was pleased to help launch an inspiring art show in Inverness, which included works by young artists to show how they reflect the influence of politics in their lives.
Mr Thompson was glad to see the Political Art project organised by the Prince's Trust and the Electoral Commission had attracted so much support and was a keynote speaker at the launch event in Inverness on Saturday evening.
"I am delighted that young people are taking an interest in politics and highlighting their concerns through art," said Mr Thompson.
"This shows that politics is not just something that happens at Holyrood, at Westminster or in Brussels; it is something that affects the life of every young person."
Mr Thompson was invited to speak at the launch of the show at 6pm on Saturday evening at Starbucks in the Eastgate Centre.
The show features about a dozen pieces of contemporary art at Inverness Art Gallery and Museum and will run until October 30.
