Highlands & Islands SNP MSP Dave Thompson today (Tues) is encouraging residents to take advantage of the upcoming National Conversation video conference across the north this Monday evening November 2nd.
The video conference will be hosted by Michael Russell the Minister for Culture, External Affairs and the Constitution between 6:30 - 8pm and will be facilitated through the University of Highlands and Islands network linking into the following locations:
Mr Thompson will be attending from the Dingwall location in the Highland Theological College. The event will feature a presentation on the options for constitutional change followed by an open question and answer session from each location.
Dave said: "The National Conversation is the debate on options for Scotland's future, including independence. The Scottish Government is keen that as many people as possible have a chance to take part in the debate. That is why Government Ministers are hosting a video conference that brings together communities across the Highlands and Islands. This will be an opportunity to have your say and also to hear the views of other communities and I would encourage everyone interested to come along at their nearest location."
Notes:
There is no charge to attend at any location, but you do need to register an interest in attending as soon as possible. Places are limited and organisers will seek to confirm your attendance as soon as possible.
Attendees should note that this event may be recorded and video and audio coverage of the event may appear on the Scottish Government website or on broadcast media.
