Dave Thompson, SNP MSP for Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch, has today raised a motion in the Scottish Parliament to congratulate Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team on its 50th Anniversary.
Over that time, the team have been involved in over 3000 rescues and this winter has been the busiest on record for the team in over 30 years.
Commenting on this, Mr Thompson said: “It is a fantastic achievement for Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team to reach their 50th Anniversary.
“They have been involved in saving many lives and it is only right that this is acknowledged and celebrated.
“The Cairngorms are one of the most beautiful mountain ranges in the country, but can also be dangerous, and I thank the team for their dedication and their bravery.
