Dave Thompson MSP has issued the following statement:

"I welcome the commitment from Graham Phillips, Chair of HC TEC services to include the Stromeferry Bypass in the Council's programme and to come back to Lochcarron as soon as possible with more detailed proposals for consultation. It is clear to me that the options are between the Glen Udalain road and a bridge as I don't believe that the current road can be made safe at a reasonable cost. It is very important that the communities affected are closely involved in this process and that HC investigate all funding options including Prudential borrowing and what is available from outside agencies so that this important project can be taken forward as soon as possible."
