Dave Thompson, SNP MSP for Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch has welcomed the news that the 7th Inverness (kirkhill) Scout Group have received a grant of £3050 from the Big Lottery Fund.
The grant will be used to fund a three day exhibition for the group.
Commenting on this, Dave said: “I am delighted that the Kirkhill Scout group have secured this funding for their expedition. This will offer the Scouts an excellent opportunity to get out and learn more about the land.
The grant will be used to purchase camping equipment for members of the Scout Group, and to organise the expedition which will involve activities on land as well as in rivers, and will include the dolphin and whale watching trip.
Adding to this, Dave said: “It is important that children are given opportunities to learn about our land and seas, and the animals which live there.
I would like to congratulate Mrs Helen Cowan of Kirkhill on securing the funding for the group, and I hope that all the Scouts enjoy the expedition.”
